NEWS and a few new projects

Hey all,

so dig it! The website is almost DONE!!!!!! I'm getting a lot done at the moment it's just SOOOOO much to make a website. I'm attaching what will be the official logo of my website and apparel. This will be featured all over the site in many different colors and will also appear on future apparel including stickers, t-shirts, hoodies, etc. Launch date is still scheduled for Late march/early April.

In the meantime, I am currently working on continuing the stars series and am actually painting one between typing. Those will be shared upon completion. Other projects I am working on include a children's book in progress, many cartoons for the upcoming comic, and a new project with my brother: starting a business. More will come as details get ironed out more and more.

For now I think people should go ahead and check out this link:

serpentclown.deviantart.com

here you will find my archived work that won't be making it to the site hosted on a vast networking site for artists.

So i'll be updating as much as possible. I hope everyone is enjoying this pesky winter.

NEWS and Pin Art update/sketches

Everyone remember the custom bowling pins I do? Well, they're still in production and I have 12 pins ready for their base coat and new designs. I have about 20-ish ideas for pins so we'll see what pops outta my head. When they are finished (most likely the end of Spring of this year) I'll be sure to post them.

In the meantime I thought I would share some original art from one of my first pins. The tattoo pin was one of my favorites and was featured in the RE-ART show in Middletown this past winter. It was sold over the summer for a good bit. If you're not familiar with this work please refer to older posts.

For any future pins I'll most likely be dipping into my archives and using a few old ideas, but like I said I have plenty of new ideas.

NEWS: the website is currently still under construction but after many, many, MANY hours of studying the program I use and many idea changes I have a format that I think is simple yet fun. A new logo has been made for the site and all that is left is a few little technical touches here and there.

Galleryofaclown.com will be "re-opened" This April 2010 if not sooner. Until then please keep visiting my blog which will still be around after the re-opening for sales, sketches, events, and overviews of some of the art. And if you ever need anything let me know. See you next time.

Stars!

This is an experimental series I've decided to start utilizing stars. These two works were done as gifts for two friends of mine. The series has no deep meaning but it is an exploration of the use of stencils.

Where did this come from? well, 1) i just love stars and 2) I have a love of graffiti art, especially stenciled work by artists such as Banksy. Stenciling takes work and makes it more graphic and "standout-ish". So I am currently going to begin work on a series of smaller works done entirely using star stencils of all sizes on canvas. These stars will utilize my love of color theory as well as channel use of layering to giv e asense of 3-dimensionality.

Specifically, These works are as follows:

The pink treble clef was done for Emma entitled "Pink, w/ Blue Star Splash".

The other was done for "Johnny B Good", "Untitled Stars 1"

Along with my other projects I'll try and keep you posted on the rest of the series as time passes.

Busy busy BuSy!

mmm Venison

So this is a post to show some of my latest work done for a friend of mine. Long story short it's just an 8 x 10 drawing of a 5 point buck I did with an ink background. I went as realistic as possible while adding little hints of character to the little guy.

The reason for the piece was due to Mike's passion for guns and hunting. I thought "what could I do for the holidays for him?" He had been talking about hunting and how he wants to bag a buck this season with his muzzle loader (which unfortunately has yet to happen). So I figured just in case he can't bag one then I could give him one that could possibly inspire him to keep going for the prize.

Mike has great determination and I know soon we will feast on venison jerky!

News, such, blablabla

Hey all!!!

So a lot has happend in the last few months and more things are in the working. I'll be posting some past projects over the next few posts as well as sharing work that are currently in progress!

For example, I am currently reviving the snake series (having been on hiatus from it for almost a year), the website is still under construction (I'm fickle and change my mind...alot), AND currently I'm working on a children's book. The story is set and the illustrations are underway. This will be self-published and I'm hoping completed sometime mid 2010.

In the meantime I'll get some more photos and such posted soon. Later!!

Devil Chick #1

As promised we're gettin' back to work with the Devil Chick that started the mini-series.
The actual reference was just from photos from various tattoo and Heavy Metal magazines. I started to draw a woman's face and partial bust when I decided "HEY, let's give her horns!" and so I did.

The coloring was just a fun play on things, I've never seen blue hair on a devil so why the heck not. Enjoy this one more to come!

Hey all! ok I know it's been months since the last post AND I have had people buggin' "when are you reposting?!" & "When is the website being reposted?!" Well now I'll answer.

WEBSITE: Recently I dropped my website server due to technical issues. I have been working on the website a million times but like many artists I have a new idea and decide to start over......5 times :P SO the site is coming back very soon. I had a breakthrough in engineering the site and the RE-LAUNCH date will be announced soon will a few new unveilings.

BLOGGING: I must admit this is a very my bad. I completely forgot to do my weekly posts.....that's it.....BUT I have been pretty busy with a lot of other fun things which I will share over the next few weeks. I am back and now that I have a few things taken care and new art I am ready to start sharing my work again!

The first will be from a series I worked on the last few years on and off again called the "Devil" series. What's it involving? devils, creatures.....beasts!!! things from the cutting room floor that were fun to draw that I might as well share. They may not get to the website but we'll see. ANYWHO i'll have a new one up soon. Till then later!

"Have you ever danced with the Devil in the pale moonlight?"
